BMW Group unveiled a new generation of their i5 series in the summer of 2020. To keep everyone safe during the global pandemic, we helped them produce the first ever global 360° automobile press event, where journalists from all around the world could participate through virtual reality.
VR enabled us to achieve perspectives never seen before. We used top-of-the-line 360° imaging technology that we custom-rigged into the passenger seat of the sedan to give a taste of what it’s like to sit in the new car.
All sorts of magic were used in post-production to make the experience truly next-gen. In addition to a full 360° view, we augmented virtual reality by overlaying holograms and digital interfaces, providing data to the interested viewer in an innovative way.
